Despite best effort to keep my laptop out of reach (I have an office alcove in my kitchen), they keep raiding it. It will only be a matter of time before they knock it down.
I am due for a new laptop anyway and was wondering if anyone uses a Panasonic Toughbook. Is it work the mucho-dinero? Think it could handle the kids?

Our neighbor works for the phone company and has one he brings on his truck. I think that's their specific market -- construction, repairmen, etc.
I dunno -- their base model is pretty barebones in terms of memory, etc., it seems you could get *two* regular laptops for the price of one Toughbook. I think your money would be better spent purchasing insurance! I think Dell offers 3 years of accident coverage for $120. You also may want to check with your homeowner's insurance carrier.
