and that's no joke, dammit! I would have thought after 3 kids I would know how to do this, but it seems as though there is always something a little different to figure out. It used to be questions about how to get rid of pacis, now it's how to make practicing spelling more interesting to a kid that has already been in school all day long while his brothers are clamoring for attention and I cook dinner.

My oldest is 7 and I have twin 3 year olds, all boys. I stay at home with them, but I really aspire to be an aspiring writer which means I need some time for myself. I've also taken up photography, but I have a lot to learn there. Currently I'm dabbling in decorating my home. I made some of my color choices while feeling bummed out and things are very bright in the kitchen. Now I'm trying to add things to tone it down a bit. Hopefully I'll eventually find a way to be creative and have some sort of work, but still around for my kids when they get home from school. I can dream, right?

I've lurked here awhile initially drawn here by the articles. I decided to join after reading about Jessica's concerns with her son. One of my twins has had sensory integration issues and sometimes I wonder if we'll find out there is more to it than that. They were born 6 weeks early and Marcus was the poor guy without a lot of space in the womb. Sometimes it still seems as though he is fighting for space, although over the past year and a half he has made great strides in asserting himself.

Anyway...hi to you all! I'll try to jump in here and there and feel my way around.

Was he born 1st or 2nd? You can help prove/debunk the whole birth order controversy. Smile

Hi Shades of Blue and WELCOME!! You sound very creative. I like to surround myself with creative types, makes me feel cool or something Wink , so....will you be my friend? Laughing

What type of sensory issues does your little guy have? Is he hypersensitive to stimuli or hyposensitive to stimuli? Is he in EI?

Can't wait to hear more about your family. A mother of all boys is special indeed!! blob5

Welcome Shade!

At last another mum of twins! I have 19 (almost 20) month b/g twins who are just about driving me around the bend. And I am also an East Coaster, well more like a Delaware River Coaster.

I work full time, I give kudos to all SAHM. I simply do not have the strength or will power to be around my kiddies all day. Daycare is a God-send to me and I think the twins like the arrangement, too.

Perhaps you could give advice on the decorating. Our house looks like a hunting lodge of sorts...I'm aiming for minimalist-shaker-Ikea myself.

Looking forward to your posts!

Thanks for all the welcomes...

Marcus was supposed to be born first, but...Jacob was right on top and they couldn't get Marcus out. So Jake ended up being Twin A, getting out first - and that has been a pattern that has repeated itself a few times!

Marcus was getting mostly OT until last summer. Our OT felt he was doing fine and when I had his 3 year old evaluation by the state he didn't fit the Part B criteria. They have both been at home with me since last summer, but had been in preschool/daycare before that for the year. I'm putting them back into preschool starting in July and I think that will give us more insight into how Marcus will cope when not around us and if he may need more intervention. I have a feeling once they get into school I'll be coping a little better!

Your feelings are valid -- our youngest just started preschool Feb. 1, and it's amazing how much more we've been getting done even with just an extra 2.5 hours a day. Jess and I went for a walk this morning, and popped into a new used bookstore that opened in town -- we felt like empty nesters! Laughing
