Cooper made me all teary this morning. It is pretty cold here, so I decided to try the two heavier coats for him that my mom bought 2 years ago and absolutely swallowed him whole (I don't know what she was thinking). We put one on and it fit perfectly except the sleeves were too short. A problem we're having a lot lately, as he's so crazy tall and thin (42" tall 29.5lbs). We tried the second one on, which was perfect in every way, except that it was so puffy he couldn't put his arms down (this was really funny in a sick way and reminded me of "A Christmas Story"). I sighed and put his old jacket back on and said to myself "What am I going to do with these coats?" He looked at me and said "Take them to Wal-Mart." He thinks everything comes from WM. I told him we couldn't, because they didn't come from there. He told me "No, Mommy, for the CHILDREN. So they will be warm." It then hit me what he meant. There is a program in TN called Coats for Kids that collects old coats and distributes them to needy children. We saw a collection box at WM a few weeks ago and he asked what it was for and I told him for children who didn't have coats. I got all teary this morning, because he remembered the children needing coats and wanted to give his so they could stay warm. I didn't even remember it until he said something. This afternoon after I pick him up from school we're going to drop them off and he's going to be the one to put them in the collection box. All the way to school he asked if we were going to make sure the children were "snuggly warm." Some days he truly amazes me.

What a little Sweetie!

Kiersten has been surprising me a lot lately too... I know they're paying attention but as they get older, it's always a crack up to hear just how much they really know!
