| Jessica, If you want to continue debating this subject I would prefer to do it here on the Political debate thread were it belongs. If not that's okay too, but PM's with eye rolls and accusations, thats not my cup of tea. Its actually a bit unnerving. |

What the hell does this mean? I've lurked on occasion since I left last fall, but haven't posted since. And, so far as I can tell, I'm only one person. Who am I supposed to be conspiring with?
If you'll read my first post on the subject, you'll see that I stuck to the issue and the only "personal" attacks I made were on Bush and his administration. In return, I was not-so-subtly called an ass and accused of enjoying the suffering and deaths of thousands of people because I got yet another chance to criticize Bush. This has been the typical debating style of Jessica's since I've "known" her from BC.
I did enjoy posting here, Scott. I didn't want to say this to you at the time, since she is your wife and I did like you, but frankly, if she weren't an owner of the site, I'd have just ignored her and stuck around. Looking around the board, it seems like a lot of other people have gone, too. Gee I wonder why. |

I don't think I implied any "conspiracy", just coincidence.

I think you (and several others) read way too much into her posts on many occasions. First of all, I read the "ASSume" as simply that old, juvenile joke about that word -- I don't see how it's twisted to be name calling. In regards to your second "personal attack" her wording was "some people" -- that's your issue if you translate that to being "you". Maybe that was an offensive statement? Possibly to "some people". Personal attack? Hardly. Jessica being the resident whipping boy because she is very outspoken with her opposing views is tiring.

There were never a lot of people here to begin with, so I don't think a lot of people could have left, LOL. I'm not sure with what her being the "owner" of the site (which in fact is a misnomer since I am responsible for every other aspect of the site besides the community) has to do with anything. She's the owner in as much as she has admin priviledges which are never used. No one gets censored because of their different beliefs. Nasty posts get called out by other members of the board. We certainly don't make any $$ per post!
But as I said in another thread, the "success" of this site doesn't hinge on the community -- the vast majority of traffic is to the front ezine area. The community is supposed to be for fun, so if it's not fun for you I'm certainly not offended if you leave. It is what it is, and I just don't have time to try and "fix" it. Hardcore debates happen about once every 6 months, but whatever... |

Scott - you are a good husband for sticking up for your woman!!
I am similar...maybe not posting, but people ALWAYS take me the wrong way, and my boyfriend always calls me his little firecracker...hehehe!!
Personally, I don't see Jessica's posts that bad either and I am a liberal (although more moderate than most). I think the issue is people don't like to be disagreed with. But that's just an opinion or someone who observes these threads that go out of whack.
Anyhow, I am enjoying this board actually. I don't see a lot of "I am a perfect mom" posts, so that's nice. My birth board are brag sessions and it gets old. |
