We were outside for dinner tonight, the weather was beautiful. We had t-bones on the grill, little red potatoes and caesar salad. Liz was in her high chair, studying us the whole meal as usual. After we were done eating, I went in and mashed up a little bit of banana for her to try, just to see if she pushed it out. She didn't. And she opened her mouth for another bite! Her little tongue was working and some did come out (mostly chunky bits, since it was spoon mashed, not jarred, so there were some little itty bitty chunky parts). I stopped after those two little bites, but then she started to cry, so I put another little pea sized spoonful in her mouth and she was happy again. All in all she had about 5 of those little bites and then just stopped opening her mouth for more.
I wouldn't say we started solids, I'd say we kind of played with bananas. Maybe we'll do it again tomorrow |

That sounds like how Aaron was when he started eating. He was just an eater right from the very beginning! And he still is. He ain't picky and can eat 2-3 times as much as Nate can. And he shits like crazy. I love the little ones that love food, it's so much fun to feed them! |

| How cute! I love it when they open their mouths like little birds to eat. |

| Man, that Lizzie is a little piggy! You know what's awesome about that? Just like Becky said, she'll probably be open to all kinds of healthy food. Holden was like that and he ate so well until he was old enough to know better, LOL. |

It is fun. And she is a little piggy But, I swear, right from birth, she was interested in food. She'd be asleep and whenever they brought my food tray in, as soon as I got it opened and started eating, she'd wake up. She could sleep through having her temp taken in her ear, or a diaper change, but she'd wake up as soon as someone was eating!
I did get some Earth's Best bananas today and gave her some more after dinner tonight. She did even better with it, since it was all pureed and smooth. She was actually taking bites and not squeezing any back out. She loved it. I bought some rice cereal too (yawn), because you're soooo supposed to give that first . So now I can mix it with bananas (in a few days). |

How old is she now? I guess I was gone too long. It's hard to imagine your little one sitting in a highchair. |

| She's only 3 months, S&G, but everything about her is more like a 5 month old. And, the high chair is in a semi-recline position (like the swing seat). Her head control is astounding, and she rolls tummy to back routinely and can do back to tummy, but doesn't like to. And, she's quite big. Not fat (actually, she's thinned out a little over this past month), just very long--and not skinny (like Alex and Katie were) either. I so wanted this last baby to stay small and be babyish for longer, but the opposite is happening. So, all I can do is roll with it! |

Lizzie sounds like Owen. Well, not the eating part, I still can't get him to eat anything, but the bigness stuff. He was rolling over both ways at 3 months, crawling on all fours by 5 months, sitting unassisted before 6 months, walking at 10 months. And I just wanted him to stay my little baby.
Darn kids with minds of their own. |

| How adorable! Have you tried any new foods recently besides bananas and rice cereal? How's she doing with the eating? |

| Yes, we've done apples, carrots and peas. She loves it. I feed her in her high chair while we eat dinner. She gets pissed if she's not given food at the table while we're eating. I tried just giving her a bottle while we eat, but she's not fooled. Really, the food goes in and she opens her mouth for more. She eats like a six month old. |
