Unlike me, DH was never the geek tech freak that I am and cannot understand the concept of the iPod craze, nor this new phenomenon called Podcasting.
He said I could either get a new cell phone (which I needed anyway) or an iPod, but not both. I got lucky in finding a multimedia phone with an mp3 player with a mini SD slot that can hold up to 1GB.
The 1GB is freakin expensive, but I got a decent 128mb miniSD for about $25 that for me could hold a day's worth of podcasting. I then downloaded the free iPodder software to subscribe to podcasts. Talk about the full-gamut off funky-ass stuff. Here's some of the stuff I am currently subscribed to:
* A View From The Religious Left: (Unitarian Sermons)
* Air America Morning Sedition
* Air America Rachel Maddow
* Air America Mike Malloy
* Bedtime Stories My Kids Love (Really bizarre tales!)
* Free Talk Live: (Libertarian Radio)
* NToddcasting: (MA/VT Tech guru talking about life and playing cool music.)
* On On Cast: Podcast of the Hash House Harriers (Really sucks, our H3 local chapter might start one)
* NPRs On The Media
* The Bob Rivers Show (Will probably unsubscribe, it's boring, unless you live in Seattle)
* The Dawn & Drew show (2 ex-Punkers in a WI farmhouse talking about their personal lives and their neurotic dogs)
* The Secrets of Harry Potter/Catholic Insider: (Way cool Dutch priest who loves HP and Star Wars...speaks great English, too)
* The Force Net: (Podcasting for Star Wars fans...Boring podcast, will probably unsubscribe)
* The Brian Lehrer Show (New York's WNYC's popular radio talk show)
Anyone listening to any great podcasts? Anyone actually broadcasting a podcast? |
