I had Liz "wake up" the kids yesterday morning. We woke Alex up first. I tip-toed in there and put Liz on the pillow next to Alex (while I held her of course) and had her squeak, "Wake up Alex!" at him. He opened one eye, saw her on his pillow, right there by his face, and he squirmed back laughing.
Then we went into Katie's room and did the same thing. I expected the same result, but no...she opened one eye, saw Liz on her pillow, reached her arm around the baby, tucking Liz into the crook of her arm, leaned over and kissed Liz on the head and sighed. My heart just melted! Then she asked if Liz could stay there while I made breakfast! I tucked her in tight and went off to prepare the cereal! I checked in every couple minutes and the two girls were just laying in the bed making lovey eyes at each other.
Now we're gonna have to have Katie help with diaper changes and 3am feedings, or else when she's 15 she'll want one of her own! |

Awww. That's so sweet.
That's great that they're not jealous! |

I'm feeling fine, thanks for asking! I've had a migraine the past couple of days, but the darvocet is working wonders on it. Really, no pain or anything from the incision, just a little itching. I'm down 20 lbs since the day I gave birth, but I still have a little ways to go down to pre-preg weight.
Jess, no there's no jealousy. A&K are so much older though, they're able to be reasoned with. They know she needs more attention than they do, but they're still not having to give anything up right now. Mike takes them to karate, they still get to watch their movies and stuff. Liz sleeps through their playing, so they don't even have to be quiet. It really is easy so far! |
