I can not believe the turmoil this morning!
My husband went with me this AM for my 36 week apt. because I was going to have a sonogram. I was the first apt. and the sonogram tech. was running late because she recently broke her ankle and is having trouble getting around. By the time she got in she was already running behind for her apts. and they jumped on her about it the second she came through the door. So she gets upset (and defensive) and starts freaking out. She even threw her crutches across the room and started screaming and crying. And there my husband and I sit right next to the sono room where they told me to sit and wait for her to get in. It was such a scene. The doctors wanted to see the sono info before they saw their respective patients so all their apts. were getting backed up. It was crazy. My poor husband doesn't like going there because as he puts it there are too many women with hormones in one place. (There are 3 women Doctors in this office each with their own staff.)
Anyway by the time I went in to see the Doctor my blood pressure was through the roof. I was surprised because they always comment on how very good my blood pressure is. So then I had to lay on the table for 30 min. while they monitored my pressure just in case. Fortunately it turned out to be Ok. It came right down so apparently it was just stress related. I couldn't believe it.
I felt bad for the sono tech - but it was really interesting to see what a domino affect one persons bad morning had on everyone.
So I'm sending blessings to you all for a wonderful day! |

OMG, though, throwing her crutches and screaming and crying! Holy Moly! How horrible!
That's funny about the female staff. I, too, am seeing a doctor in a practice where there are three female OB's and their entire staff is female. But, no scene like that--ever!
How'd the u/s go? |

I was afraid to ask any questions given the general mood at the time. She tried to pull herself together but she was still pretty rattled. Anyway she said everything looked fine. My amniotic fluid was good which it had been low at 36 weeks with my previous child putting me on bedrest for the rest of the pregnancy with him. She said the baby was about 6 pounds which she said was average for this stage and that this baby would probably be a little smaller than my first which weighed in at 8 lbs. 13 oz. I was hoping she would confirm the gender. She told me a girl a few months ago but it had been hard to see so I was hoping for better confirmation. Anyway even my husband was afraid to ask after all the fireworks that had gone on.
On top of the morning events we just had severe storms pass through the area a few hours ago. My hubby went on to work after bringing me home. About 3 this afternoon the sky got ugly and I knew something was coming. I put away a few things in the yard in case of high winds and my son and I had to take cover in the hallway while heavy hail storms and tornado warnings passed us by. After the storm passed we looked outside and my little boy yelled "It's just like on Ice Age!" It looked like we had a snow storm with so much hail covering the ground. Pea up to quarter size. 2 hours later there is still several patches of it on the ground.
What a day!
Hope your c -section goes well tomorrow, PP! |
