Maybe this doesn't belong in here but I didn't know where else to stick it. Anyone have ideas what to take to the hospital for delivery? I followed some list with my first and it seems like we took a whole bunch of stuff we didn't even need. I can think of some basics - robe, slippers, hair dryer, camera, Outfits for baby for first picture and going home. I know my husband didn't even touch the snacks we packed and all that stuff about relaxing music and blah was just stuff that never came out of the bag. Plus all the stuff the hospital provided I had brought too. Anyway if you think of something let me know thanks! |

Mine is pretty well packed. I'm having a scheduled c-section though, so I have to bring along more stuff:
Camera
Books (YaYas in Bloom and I'll toss in whatever I'm reading when the time comes, too).
Toiletries bag (contact lens stuff, shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.)
Underwear to wear home
Extra nursing bra
2 outfits for Liz (a NB size one and a 0-3 size, just in case)
2 undershirts (one NB shirt, one 0-3 onesie, just in case)
I'll toss my hairdryer in that morning (I don't have an extra), and I plan on wearing my glasses and packing my contacts in the contact holder. And, really, that's it. I plan on wearing thier hosptial gowns to bleed on, their comfy post-c-section netted underwear, their pads and breast pads (if needed), their diapers and wipes. |

Lip balm! Also, the hospitals here have put the crackdown on the netted undies. I hear they tell you in no uncertain terms in the class/tour that you will only get one pair. So you might want to check on that if you didn't do the class. |

Thanks for reminding me to check on the elastic undies - I'll ask when I go in on Monday. I didn't take classes this time since as soon as I got to the hospital this first time I new I wanted the epidural. And I will throw in some lip balm - thanks! Socks- I just remembered those. |

Actually, after the c/s, yes I did. They let the incision breathe and they were so loose and stretchy. My c/s with Alex ruined my ability to ever wear anything other than granny underwear forever. I just couldn't stand anything near the incision, and I wore my giant maternity underwear until I could stock up on other underwear that sat above my belly button
I wouldn't want the net things for everyday use, lol, (not when I can have my BEST FITTING PANTY from WalMart ), but for those hospital days after the c/s, I think they're great. |
