We've started to accept paid advertising, in order to cover some of the costs needed to maintain this website. To encourage the advertisers to reorder ad space, all I ask is that you click on the links and visit their sites.

Today, Phone a Babysitter is running a one-day "test" ad to see what kind of response they get by advertising. It's a free service (they charge the babysitter to post a listing) that offers a searchable database of babysitters in your area. If you're so inclined, please click on their text ad (at the top along the right side on the community index and all the main IP pages) and sign up.

Thanks!

I checked out the babysitting.

Does it benefit you at all to click on those funny ads at the bottom of the pages?

...oh, and I have a question about the store stuff -- is there a way to see how much shipping is without doing the whole check-out process first?
and have you (or anyone) used those kids silverware sets, the finger puppet ones? I like that they come with a little knife, Ethan is all into cutting his food lately. But I'm a little concerned that the finger crevice would be a too tempting place to shove food into. Confused and how it has little arms that stick out? -- is it hard for the kid to hold comfortably with those? any real life experience on those?

...and one more thing...I noticed that when I put something in my basket and it would show me other things available (the "you might also like these things" page)...well, on that page it didn't reflect the sale prices. The sale prices were only showing up through their own pages. Does that make sense (what I'm describing)? I knew some of the stuff shown WAS on sale, but that page wasn't reflecting it. Someone not as sale savvy as myself Wink might miss those extra items.

Thanks everyone for clicking!

We do get a tiny payment for each click on the Google ads.

It calculates the shipping total based on the total weight of the order, and the shipping address. I know some stores let you put in your zip in the cart and calculate shipping, but ours is not that sophisticated. The shipping cost is displayed before you enter your credit card info, however. We don't add any handling charges, either, and offer priority mail as a shipping option, so it's reasonable.

The base below the arms is big enough for a little kid to hold -- although I would think the finger puppet aspect would be to tempting for them to hold it like a regular spoon! But yes, you can certainly stick food besides fingers in there, too.

That makes total sense -- truth be told, I couldn't figure out how to display the sale price on that page, so I removed the prices all together until I figure it out. I agree, it does diminish the effectiveness.
