Melissa said fucking!!!
Melissa, age 3 was horendous for us. Sorry. It is still at times but now I see shades of age 4 coming, which for Jack are going to be filled with show-off, slightly obnoxious behavior I fear! |

Oh I have no idea what you all are talking about? I have the most perfect and well behaved child and he was never, ever a crazed lunatic, whatever could you guys be talking about?
LOL, just had to joke.
Yea, I can remember thinking about why do people always say "terrible twos?" Nate was fine at two, it should really be "terrible threes." He was into everything, very curious, and would become really hard to manage with regards to self control. For example, he wanted to touch everything, he'd make messes, didn't clean up, tons of things.
But there is a light at the end of the tunnel, I think! At 4 1/2 he really is much better. Of course nothing is ever easy, but I find at this age they are easier to reason with, and can understand things better. The self control is also more developed. |

It was so bad this week. Yesterday, after dh got home from work, I just went upstairs, laid down on my bed and started crying. I was sooooo at the end of my rope. Ethan hasn't just been pushing my buttons, he's just stomped all over them.
Ugh Ugh Ugh. You know what I had echoing around in my head during all this, and no Chris, it wasn't "Serenity Now" lol, it was: THIS IS WHY CHILD ABUSE HAPPENS
Dh is grand. He had MIL watch the boys after church and he and I just went out shopping. Ah. I actually got to try on clothes in peace!
AND I got payback for Ethan's horrendous antics: THE Easter outfit. Navy polo with lime/white/light blue horizontal chest stripes, denim shorts, with knee high argyle socks that match and black chuck taylors.
Makes me feel a whole lot better! |

I agree with everyone else. The 3's are hard. Definitely more challenging than 2 for us.
LOL at your revenge, Melissa! |

OMG, if Joshua stayed three for too much longer, I would IN ALL SERIOUSNESS have to go on meds. It caught me so off-guard, too, because three was *wonderful* with Calvin. Joshua's whole developmental style has always been hard for me to deal with (long periods of extreme frustration, tantrums, and whininess, followed by a huge leap, a few good weeks, then a slow build back into frustration), but it has really peaked at 3. Thank Maude he will be four July 1, and I can see him moving slightly into more of a four mode. But then, this could just be the good stage that comes after a bad one. Let's hope not!
Oh wait, we were talking about Melissa I got distracted by wallowing into my own misery. I'm praying that Somerset's three will be more like Calvin's was. She is more like him in some ways, but she wasn't the difficult baby and super-shy toddler that he was. It was his blossoming out of that that made three so great for him. I don't think she'll be like Joshua's three, either though. She'll probably be incredibly sassy and stubborn based on current indicators. |
