For those of you who have older children, at what age did they start counting? Cooper and I (usually when we're in the car) will count to ten or say the alphabet (I say the number or letter, then he repeats it). We don't do it a lot, but maybe 3-4 times a week (4 or 5 times in a row), but it's not something I've pushed. It's usually just something to keep him occupied Today we were in Steinmart and he looked up at me and said "I count, Mama" then counted to 10 on his own. I almost cried right there in the store I was so proud of him. Is this (2 and 4 months) about the average age or is he behind or ahead? He also said about the first 8-9 letters of the alphabet (in correct order) on the way home. My baby is growing up!

I think the average is around 2 or 3 for starting with letters and numbers. Nate started at closer to 3. He was still learning to speak in short sentences at Coopers age! Laughing

Anyway, have fun, once they start they learn fast and it's so much fun to watch.

We're still working on basic speech, so he seems like a freakin' genius to me! Laughing
