| Does anybody happen to know how to get pen ink out of carpeting? |

Rubbing Alcohol does the trick! Blot with a clean cloth as you go until you have wiped the stain away. It takes a little elbow grease but it does work |

You can use rubbing alcohol like QB suggested. If that doesn't get it all up, you can use acetone (like in nail polish remover). You can also alternate the two--drizzle a little isopropyl (and you can buy stuff with higher concentration of isopropyl than OTC rubbing alcohol, look at Home Depot), then blot, blot, blot, and then drizzle some acetone and blot, blot, blot.
Don't rub. Whatever you do, don't rub.

Acetone though is what takes nail polish off. If it's colored carpet you'll take the color off.
Hairspray which works the same way as alcohol but then you have to wash the sticky out so I'd stick with the alcohol. 150 proof works for me. After a bottle of that, I can't see the stains anymore. |

Yes, I found that works great!! And never ever use nail polish remover. I made that mistake and my carpet has these dark spots and the spots look sunken in as if the nail polish remover actually ate away at the carpet. |

| Hmm maybe it was just the brand of nail polish remover but I can't see there being any difference though. |

I heard that the acetone will eat away the carpet if it's made from synthetic materials, but not on natural materials, like wool.
I had ink stains on my carpet and rubbing alcohol was a miracle! |
