My day was great! My six year old cleaned the living room for me as a surprise (of his own choice) so that "you don't have to do it all mom". Of course a half hour later while I was putting the laundry away he decided to take a swig of the warehouse size bottle of cranberry juice and put it back in the fridge with the lid half on! It was lake cranberry all over the place LOL! He did attempt to clean it up, he just didn't realize that what was spilling out of the door was actually continuing to poor inside the fridge
Hubby brought home Chinese food for dinner, and it was just really nice/cosy. |

Well the day started off shaky. My BIL called at 4:45 and said his house was on fire! His stepson heard a 'pop' in his room at 4-something. BIL said it was probably nothing and to go back to sleep, so stepson just decided to sleep on the couch. At 4:45 he heard the smoke alarm blaring so he woke up BIL. He ran upstairs and the mattress was smoldering. There was smoke everywhere. They got the little ones and everyone out of the house. By the time the FD got there the flames had just started. So the house is not a loss, there's just MAJOR smoke damage upstairs. It turned out that it was a crappy battery charger (like for a toy) on/near his bed that caused it. I'm just so thankful that he slept on the couch. He could have suffocated before he ever woke up.
So that was early in the morning. Once my kids woke up, they gave me my gifts ( a new flatscreen monitor, new comp speakers, and a calculator. my son loves calculators, so he thought that I MUST have a new one.) Later that morning we went to a Seattle Mariner game through our little league. They had a 'parade' for kids and families that snaked all through the insides of the ballpark, past the team locker room and everything, til we made it onto the field. My kids were so excited to be out there. And my littlest was so happy that she saw herself on the big jumbo TV.
So other than the early morn, it was an awesome day. We went home and ate sandwiches for dinner (yeah! no clean-up) and watched Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom til bedtime. |
