OK, so if you've ever been unfortunate enough to have a baby diaper break and you're left with that weird "diaper jelly" to clean up, I have an interesting tip on how to do it.
Long Story. Here goes:
I took my kids to the river one day this summer because it was freakin' HOT outside. While my 2 older ones were playing in the water with Dad, I let my 17 month old sit at the bank and splash in the water. Well, her diaper just about sucked up half of the river! When it was dusk and time to go, instead of changing her in the back of the car, I just sat her in the carseat, swelled diaper and all, and drove home, since we only live 4 blocks away.
When I unlocked her carseat buckle and lifted her out, SPLAT! Her diaper slid right off her butt and into the car, spreading that icky diaper jelly all over my backseat! Gross! So I brought her inside to clean her up and I told myself that I'd clean it "in a few minutes", and well, I completely forgot.
The next day it was super hot again, and at about noon, I remembered that I forgot to clean up the mess. So I went outside in the 90-something heat armed with paper towels, cleaning spray, and a sack. But when I opened the door..... it was gone. The extreme heat in the car dried out the diaper jelly and just left the dry fibers on the seat. I just brushed it away, and VOILA! Done.
Anyway, to sum it up, if you're ever stuck cleaning that junk up, my guess is to dry it out with a hair dryer on high heat, then suck it up with a small hand-vac.
Or you could just wait until Summer....HA! |

Wasn't that jelly originally invented to put out fires?
Interesting story! I read while captivated, but I must ask, what in the HELL made you think of that??? |

Because a friend had a "diaper jelly" situation at her house involving a diaper thrown into the toilet, then onto the floor for mommy to find, and a big pile of jelly to clean up. She told me about it and I asked "Did you use a hair dryer?", and she looked at me like I was crazy. I told her this story and she said I should shout it from the mountaintops!
Sooooo, I thought I'd relay my experience. |

All I was thinking is "Thank God that isn't a concern for me anymore!"

What an incredible trick! I love it and wish I had known about that LONG ago! Diaper jelly makes me retch! LOL
I have another use for diaper jelly. Rip apart the diaper when it's dry and take all those fibers out and mix it in with your potting soil. Then when you water your plants, the fibers swells and trap the water and if you're like me and forget to water your plants, the diaper jelly will hold the extra water in reserves and give you a few more days of non-watering. I have the "Black Thumb Of Death" and this has saved me more than once! |

Yeah, me too. The hubs picks on me incessantly for killing all of my plants. Either I don't water enough, I over-water, or they don't get enough light. Plants in my house have an average life expectancy of 6 to 12 months. |
