I LOVE music and think you can learn a lot about someone from knowing the kind of music they listen to. What is everyone listening to right now? What is your fave song? Right now I am listening to Blue October's Foiled For the Last Time. I love this cd and listen to it all the time! My kids love it too! Of course there are some songs that aren't appropriate for kids so I change the song when it's a more adult one, but the ones they can listen to they love! My 3 year old even sings to most of them and knows all the words! lol My new fave song is Leona Lewis' Bleeding Love!

So how about everyone else?

Hi Momof3 Laughing
I took you literally at first, just reading the title of your topic, LOL...nothing in my cd at the moment, but do have the *The View* on right now! Love that show.

I enjoy all kinds of music and it just depends on my mood what I listen to. Love contemporary jazz and anything with a saxophone, blues and the Rolling Stones. We live waaaaayyyyy out in the country and it's wonderful to have the freedom to have it as loud as we want. Our poor kitties though, sometimes run for cover, Crying or Very sad

You're so funny! My kids think the louder the better! Now that's my kind of kids! lol I too am very ecletic! I love everything! My friends and family used to laugh at me b/c I'd make my own mixed tapes (back when we all listen to and make tapes! lol) and it'd go from country to classical to rap to show tunes and Broadway music to hard rock and alternative music back to artists like Patsy Cline and then jump again to rap, ect! I love it all and love that my eclecticness has rubbed off on my kids! They know all the words to Patsy Cline's best to Eminems (well some of them aren't apropriate so not a lot of them) Bleu October and Dixie Chicks! It's so much fun and a great way to relax! Smile

Oh, I love these kinds of threads!

Well, I just started working out again so I've filled my MP3 with guilty pleasures.

Right now it's pretty eclectic:

Roxette (anybody remember them?! Embarassed LOL)
Shakira
Green Day
Counting Crows
Collective Soul
Good Charlotte

Normally I'm listening to Hannah Montana and the High School Musical soundtracks via my boys, although my older one is now getting into some current pop music, much of which I like.

We're watching American Idol together and we LOVE it! Go David Archuleta!!!!

Love David Archuleta...Do you here him sing "One Voice" a few weeks ago? The one Simon said reminded him of an amusement park performance...that was a great song. Laughing

We're still on the "Hairspray" soundtrack here, even through it's been out a long time.
I really thought I would get REM's new disc for my b-day, but I'll have to download that myself! I usually just download various songs, but with the exception of heavy metal, I think we like a little of everything!!
(and I laugh about your 3 year old singing--when mine were littler they absolutely loved black-eyed peas, a LITTLE outkast and missy elliott so we had to due some of our own editing on my husband's mac just to play the "clean" versions....) I should be so ashamed Evil or Very Mad

But my son does like a lot of the Christian pop/rock as well!! His teacher got him hooked on a certain one, but I can't remember the name. They sing the songs with actions at school masses.

How fun! My kids also love Green Day and Good Charlotte AND Shakira!!! They always want to know who sings what. So whenever a song comes on the radio I'll ask them who sings it and they'll tell me! My friend and family think it's sooo funny that they know the names and they (friends and family) don't! lol

We also have all the Hannah Montana and HS Musical cds and they sing them all! lol Smile

Yeah, I didn't get Simon's criticisms at all.

I am still stunned by his first performance, John Lennon's "Imagine". I can't believe he's only 17. Very talented indeed!

I think our kids would get along famously! Wink

I'm so glad to be beyond Wiggles songs. I actually think Miley Cyrus is incredibly talented.

My older son is now totally into Guitar Hero, which I think has expanded his music horizons.

Thank God we're past the Wiggles' tunes too! I was about to go nutso with them! lol Shocked Thankfully my son has never really been into that kind of music, although, he does like to listen to some little kids cds that have songs like the alphebet song and some farmer songs, but for the most part he loves to listen to whatever I'm listening to! My kids get along with just about everyone and anyone that they meet, so yes, I do think our kids would have a blast together! lol Have a great day Jessica! Smiles to you friend! Smile

I forgot to add Maroon 5 to my kid's favorites, and I can actually tolerate the Jonas Brothers Smile
The Wiggles reminded me of something--6 years ago they came to a smaller venue here and we took the kids. My daughter was 5 and we were about 5 rows back, but she managed to get herself up to the "mosh pit" of kiddies so she could do all the dances, and we still tease her to this day! Laughing And ironically, our 2 "male" gerbils had 2 litters of 6 babies (yes, we finally figured out who was doing what to whom...) and We got rid of all but 4 male babies. After much debate, and being quite sick of gerbils, the kids named them Greg, Murray, Jeff, and Anthony. We did find homes for them eventually, too.

For some odd reason, when my son was a preschooler he got really into the song "Jollymon" (I don't think weeven have a Jimmy Buffet disc) because we had the book that Fimmy Buffett had written with his dayghter, and he LOVED Bob Marley and reggae after going to some band in a park with us...
So--is Guitar Hero appropriate? I've been toying with letting them get it, but I would personally rather update from the "Mario" dance dance revolution to the new DDR for the Wii!
Oops--babbling again. Sorry!
