JM- where is your dh now?

And poor Ainsley! How is she doing now?

Ains was doing a lot better, but she has the flu and bronchitis (as do we all) and the achiness of her healing leg has gotten unbearable on top of everything else. She hasn't slept for two nights straight, but I have high hopes for tonight (it's 11 now and she hasn't woken up yet, so maybe...) We're going back to the ortho in two weeks for xrays, and hopefully she'll be out of a cast at that point.

How old is Seamus? Calvin loves the Magic Treehouse books still even though he was much younger when he started reading them.

He's five. His kindergarten teacher has been lending him the books out of her classroom library-- I would never have thought to try something of that level with him (I mean, seriously, he's only been reading on his own of his own volition for a few months), but he seems to really enjoy the challenge.

Wow, Joshua is six and he just read the first Magic Treehouse book on his own, which I didn't even know until he had finished it! He loves these robot-themed graphic novels (for little kids, not like the more advanced ones) that he always finds at the library, but I can't think what they're called. And all of them have loved the Junie B. Jones books, which their K teacher (they've all three had the same one) reads to them and then they find others in the series to read on their own. They are really funny. I love them. Oh, and Captain Underpants!

I am still here (if anyone remembers me).

I have been ill for 2.5 weeks with bronchitis but still working. I was a keynote presenter at a State Special Education conference last week in Minot, ND. Only -23 degrees (but feels like -45?). Anyhow with all my coughing my co-presenter had to step in and help. Why can't we get invited to the Bahamas?

The tornados missed us but the kids always think it is cool to play games in the bathroom (our only room downstairs with no windows).

I went for a plastic surgery consult which was pretty funny. What happened is I lost the weight and found out that I had gotten old looking! Basically my face is not bad enough for a face lift yet and the rest of me would take a large amount of money for very minor improvements, Basically I can spend 8-12K on a tighter tummy and perky boobs or just spend about $100 for a new bra and Spanx. I am opting on the latter. Also they really cannot tighten up arms and thighs so only parts of me would be tight while the rest would still be swinging in the wind. Does not sound too appetizing to me.

One interesting thing I found out- implants are temporary! They only last 10-20 years. So if I got my boobs reinflated I would have to have more surgery to either replace them or remove them. I could not see my self getting my boobs worked on when I was almost 70! So all the people with implants must have major surgery repeatedly . . .

I also tried some of the aesthetic procedures. I figure I get my teeth whitened every few years, maybe some of these other procedures would be like a regular tune-up. I got a chemical peel ($200 burns badly- peels for a week- and not really a big improvement) botox in my forehead ($200 fabulous - all wrinkles gone- but already wearing off after 2 months- supposed to last 6 months) and will get some laser hair and skin treatments soon. I will let you know if I think those are worth it or not. So far I think these may be a one time shot.

Anyhow glad to read the updates. I am just hoping to recover. HB to Graham and get well to DCH's dh and Ainsley.

Hey Janna! My OB office, McDonald-Murrman has a division that does a lot of that aesthetic stuff. You are cracking me up though! You do not look old!

I stayed home the past two days with a puking, squirting Genevieve, and I'm not feeling so hot today. I'm hoping it's just a little queasiness.

I just googled it because I hadn't heard anything about it...

Apparently it was at a tiny strip mall, closer to the Wisconsin border. No where near me! (I don't know if anyone was killed. I didn't read the whole article yet.)

Hello people! Smile

Annie, dear lord! thank goodness your dh was okay!!! Shocked How frightening that must have been!!

Ummmm... we are all trying to get better here. Everyone but dh has been getting hit with cold after miserable cold. Ethan actually got the flu along with pneumonia and an ear infection to top it off. I think it's all behind us now *knock on wood* and if I can get my allergies under control we will be good to go. Wink

Owen is now exactly 4.5 years old. We are in the throws of potty training which is always fun. Rolling Eyes and trying to sort out all his other stuff. sigh Paige turns a year old in a few weeks and dh and I will be celebrating our 10th anniversary. love7
