Christmas itself was really nice, here. My in-laws came over and FIL fixed my computer all weekend and MIL helped me wrap presents (I've never procrastinated this bad before) and she made fudge for DH.
But after Christmas when they went home and DH went back to work, that's when things got shitty.
Not sure if any of you heard, it was on CNN, it was that 6 family member Christmas Eve murder in my town. I just spent the last 7 days glued to the news trying to get any info possible.
The grandmother, Judy, was my mail carrier. Just a horrible tragedy the whole town is trying to deal with.

Jessica- I saw some stepstools selling for $70 online!! I think it would be a fun way to make some extra money.
Is that gamestation a double hoops basketball thingie? I was looking at that for the boys but their big gift this year were DS's. Maybe next year I'll go for that gamestation thing.
I love the ESPN gamestation! I couldn't find it in stores so I got it on e-bay, new. It's made by Fisher Price. You can play basketball, football, baseball, hockey, golf, and soccer. It's pretty huge though so I wouldnt recommend it unless you have a basement or a room exclusively for toys! |

Hey! We had a good Christmas although Genevieve has been pretty sick for our whole Christmas break. I think it's finally clearing up now, but she has run a high fever and stuck to me like glue for two weeks straight now.
The kids got tons of stuff, we got some gift cards--the usual. On the 27th we drove 9 hours down to Watersound Beach in the FL panhandle to meet up with dh's mom and 14 year-old brother and his younger sister and her family. Here are some pictures of the trip. |

MX3, I meant to respond to this. I did hear about this and it's just heartbreaking that someone would be okay with shooting a 3 year old and a 6 year old like it was as easy as pumping gas or something.
I hope the assholes that did it get life in solitary confinement.
Are there any new details? |

Kristy, great pics! That vacation looked so relaxing!! At first I thought the sand was snow though and wondering why you guys weren't bundled up.
All of your kids look so much alike. Good looking family. |

Noting new yet, just that they're both being charged with 6 counts each of aggrivated homicide.
Another part of the investigation is that there was a 911 hang-up call made from that house at 5:15pm (later found out to be made by the Daughter-in-law who was shot). The dispatcher tried to call back twice but kept getting the voicemail. And when the 2 deputies got there 30 min later, they left because the gate at the driveway was locked!
Everyone is outraged. I remember exactly what I was doing at 5:45 pm that Christmas Eve night, I was at our local grocery store picking up last minute things for dinner. I know it was 5:45 because the store manager kept telling customers to bring their things to the registers because the store was closing in 15 min.
So that night at that time when those cops turned around, it was cold, it was dark, and it was rainy. Basically they were just too lazy to get out in the bad weather, walk around the gate and up the driveway to the house, and check out a 911 hang-up call. Their lack of judgement made a HUGE difference in a trained proffessional finding the bodies and knowing the proper procedure, and a distraught Postal worker friend finding them 2 days later and being so terrified when she saw it all, that she hid under a bed to call police.
I really hope they nail these cops to the wall, as well as the daughter and boyfriend! I will let you know of any updates though. |
