And I am not handling it well. He's not supposed to be this old. I just brought him home from the hospital and now he's going off to kindergarten. How did this happen?
He's so excited he can barely contain himself. He told me tonight that he needed to go to bed early because he had to get up early and get to big boy school on time. OMG, this is so hard. I alternate between being incredibly proud of him and wanting to weep at the unfairness of how quickly time is sliding away.
Before getting into bed tonight he had to check to make sure his uniform was ready and that his school supplies were still in his backpack. It's so cute, but it's killing me. I don't know how I'm going to make it through tomorrow morning.

Aww, you will make it just fine! Try and just think of what a big deal this is for him and how much he is going to love love love it. First days of school are so exciting. Take a million pictures! |

Somerset's first real day was today, too. They get big so fast! I remember when Calvin started K, I was freaking out. Now I'm on number 3 so it's old hat. |

Well, I made it. I did tear up a little, but I did not cry. Here are some photos:

Aw, he looks so grown up, JM. Congratulations on not crying. Seamus's first day was Monday and I totally cried. (Although I didn't embarrass him at the bus stop, I waited until I was home ) |

OMG, he is cute as button! He looks so preppy!
I actually thought he was older than that, probably because I've 'known' you for so long. Oh, to think back on those BC days -- nah, I'd rather not! |

| He looks so excited! It's really sweet. We're pretty far from that point, but I'm sure I'll have a hard time with it too. Chloe's not even two yet, and Finn's only 8 months. I cried their first day of daycare, as soon as I got out the door. |

He is tall. When he stands up straight he's just a breath under 47". At this rate he'll be taller than me when he starts first grade.
He loved school. He did not stop talking from the moment I picked him up until he went to bed. I asked him what he learned and he said "How to be a Kindergartener!" He's been rolling out of bed raring to go each morning. It's crazy cute.
I'm not really liking school though, because *I* have to get up early! Boo! |
