Higher divorce rates in the military? I'm not sure. The military families board over on BBC is practically on fire from this. It's only for the Army. The Marines are still doing a 7 month rotation and the AF is still at 4-8 months. The Army is considered the "active" force on the ground so they have to be there longer. It's horrible and stressful. |

| That's almost as crazy as the fact that your husband even has to back for what, the 3rd time? |

Yep, this will be time #3. There are some soldiers though who are preparing for their 4th deployment. They guarantee 12 months home between deployments, but honestly, whoopie. They spend the first 2-3 weeks home going through reintergration sessions (ie. don't go crazy and kill your wife), then they get 20-30 days off, then the next 2 months are spent doing recovery on vehicles and equipment, then it's relatively normal for 2-3 months, then they start training to go back, meaning they're off in the field practicing for the real thing for 3-4 months, another 20-30 days of time off, then a full month of gearing up and packing vehicles and equipment to go back, then they deploy. Out of that 12 months, maybe 4 are spent in some sort of normality. Maybe. I don't know how much longer the miltiary can expect this to go on. Yes, everyone in the Army volunteered and knew there was a possibility of a war (there always is), but they also thought they'd be treated fairly and have some sort of life. And I'm sorry, but this is not fair. BTW, 15 months is now the MINIMUM for deplyments. They can still be extended to 18 months or longer once they are "boots on the ground." When we were told about this upcoming depoyment, the CO told us to hope for 12 months (which was what the deployment was originally) but be prepared for 15-18 months. |

| My heart goes out to you and your family julymom. This is a horrible thing they're doing to the men in the military, and the families at home waiting for them. |

That is horrible- and they wonder why enlistments are down? I hate that we are abusing our military. So sorry this is impacting you family!
