Whoa...I had some serious contractions off and on from Sunday night until Monday morning. They lasted about 5 minutes and hurt bad enough for me to call the doctor! But I wasn't too worried since I only had 4 or 5 in a 24 hour period and there was no pattern at all. They eventually went away with rest and plently of water. Still, it was scary to have such strong contractions at only 24 (almost 25) weeks. I remember having BH contractions with Michael, but nothing painful like this.
How are you other breeders doing? Who is ready for baby to arrive? I have done nothing to prepare. I guess after the rush of the holidays I'll get around to getting our guest room cleaned out and painted and ready as a nursery. |

I've never even had Braxton Hicks contractions before with my first two kiddos. This one has been giving me a run for my money though... I had steady contractions (five minutes apart) for about two hours Friday morning and a couple of good ones (take my breath away) here and there since then. I also failed my gestational diabetes test....fun! Oh, yeah, I've also done nothing to prepare for this baby to arrive, and I really have no clue what to do if I did suddenly have the inclination. I don't know what's wrong with me.... |

I'm just scooting along. 23.5 weeks, holding steady with a 4 pound gain, still wearing my normal clothes. Sometimes I wonder if I'm really pregnant.
I have been preparing though. I've got an emabarrassing amount of clothing already. I went ahead and bought the highchair I wanted since it was being clearanced out and at a good price. Instead of Cmas gifts for me, my mom is getting me the bouncy seat and bathtub I have picked out. The IL's are coming the day after Christmas and will take us shopping for our gifts. I plan on just asking for the packnplay we will use in our room for the first 6ish months. Then we will just need to get the carseat/stroller thing figured out and we will have all our bases covered. Whew! |

I haven't prepared a thing. I figure I've got tons of time though, I am like, 21-22 weeks. I dont need much really except a new crib bumper since ours is trashed after 3 kids. And I am hoping to borrow an infant seat from SIL who just had a baby in August and I hope he is out of it by April.
Melissa- what's with needing all that new stuff? Did you sell all your baby stuff before you moved or what? |

Yeah, we got rid of everything other than a small amount of clothes (basics, like infant sleepers, gowns and onesies, bibs) and the swing. We sold the crib and dresser right before we moved. And all the other stuff we sold or gave away as Owen outgrew it. The only reason we kept the swing is because we both LOVED that dumb thing, lol, and we had disassembled it and put it back in the box when Owen outgrew it, so it was easy to pack onto the moving truck and not take up much space. But big bulky things like the exersaucer we didn't want to deal with.
I do still have my slings, bjorn, pumps, oodles of bottles (need to buy new nipples though), and baby toys. It was just the big stuff that we purged. You know, the stuff that's expensive to replace. |

Oh...that sucks! Since we are having these practically back-to-back we will need another crib and a double stroller but all the other stuff (tub, bouncy seat, swing, etc) is still right in the basement.
My mom has gone crazy buying me girly clothes and a bassinet already and a friend has given me a couple of packs of newborn and size 1 diapers so I figure I'm ready right now
No more contractions since Monday. I did get another YI and also have BV at the same time. Why does pregnancy wreck such havoc on my poor vagina? |

| I have two cribs. My neighbor was selling his at a yard sale and when I told him I wanted it, he said his brother has the matching crib for sale as well. We need to buy mattresses still since I didn't want to reuse them. Other than that, we have nothing at all. I gave all my baby stuff away because we were so sure we wouldn't be able to have another infant. I definitely need to get two car seats, a double stroller, and I want two bouncers and a swing. I'll hold off buying clothes until I finally get my ultrasound and see what they are! |

BV = bacterial vaginosis
I really didn't have symptoms, except for a little more discharge than usual, which I thought was just caused by pregnancy, and I thought a little odor. No itching or burning or anything like that. It's basically when some "bad" bacteria in your vagina take over and overrun the "good" bacteria that are normally there. I had to take antibiotics and it seems to be better. If left untreated it can lead to premature labor so it was good that my doctor caught it.
I am feeling much better, thank you! Other than being so tired. I remember having sooo much energy in the 2nd trimester last time and right now I'm totally wiped.
My mom has now bought me a hamper and some cute lined baskets for Kate's room, as well as a mobile for the crib (which I still have to buy) and a booster seat. Thanks to my mom I should be well prepared my March. I can't believe I only have 13-14 weeks until my c-section. I haven't scheduled it yet, but imagine it'll be around the 15th since my EDD is 3/23. |
