So, my top boy name (Matthew John) is totally out. My FIL (who is a complete dick--we need an emoticon for dick) told DH "I think it would be great if you have a boy if you name him Matthew John." I don't know how he came up with our boy name like that, but I just can't use it now. He will take credit for it and it will make me dislike him more than I already do.

Here are some possibilities we are kicking around:

Robert
Ryan
David
Brian
Andrew

I still like John as a middle name--it's my BIL's name and I really love him--but am not committed to it. We have to be a little careful too b/c our last name starts with a K so names like Kirby Kevin (KKK) and Carl Owen (COK) are out.

I am open to opinions/suggestions. Hopefully, the nurse who thought she saw a penis at last week's u/s is wrong and this baby is a girl b/c our our girl name is one we both love7 but I really think it's a boy.

I'm kind of stuck on Robert Ryan right now, but would probably want to call him Ryan.

From your list I loooove Andrew and Brian. Brian is on our boy name list Smile, but I actually like Andrew more. Very Happy

If you would call the baby Ryan for Robert Ryan, why not switch it to Ryan Robert? Ethan's first name is Robert, legally, and I HATE that we did that. I tell everyone his name is Ethan Robert, hoping if I say it enough it will make it true. Laughing It can be a rearlly annoying pita to go by the middle name. JMO of course! Razz

I like all those names and I think they sound good with Michael too. I think my fave on your list is Andrew though.

What's your girl name?

Our girl name is Katherine Grace (probably Kate for short). We both love both of those names.

I like Andrew a lot too, but would definitely call him Andrew, not Andy or Drew. I guess those nicknames don't bother me though if someone else (like my mom) insists on using them. DH is all about Robert, which I like but I wouldn't really want him to be called Bob, Bobby, or Rob. And my mom would socall him Bobby constantly if his name was Robert.

What about Andrew Ryan? Or Ryan Robert? Those are my top choice right now.

Andrew Ryan gets my vote! Very Happy That is a really great name.

And I agree, that as far as nicknames go, Andy and Drew are fine (cute even!). Much better than Bobby. Confused

I think I've decided not to name my child. I am having a difficult time with boy names right now! Smile

Just call him "Boy" or "Kid" or "Thing 3"

I like Andrew Ryan, too. Definitely avoid any name that has a common nickname that you hate-- you can only control that for so long, you know?

dh and I are up a creek if this little bean is a boy too. I'm adament that a boy is to be named Simon and dh is equally adament about naming him Cooper. Rolling Eyes
I really want another boy, but the name thing alone is driving me crazy enough to think a girl would be better!

I had no boy names for Genevieve. Or Joshua. Laughing

Out of those, I like Ryan Andrew. What about Anderson? My sister was considering Andrew and her son is named Seth Anderson. My brother's son is named Kyle Andrew (I wonder if that's why she didn't use it? I had never thought of that before.) We also knew someone whose ds was named Anderson West, because her first name was Wendy and his was Stewart, so the baby's middle name came from the first letters of their names. I whought that was neat. Hey Supergirl, you should name the baby Kenosh! Laughing Laughing
