What is everybody's bath schedule with their kids? Do you bathe them at night, in the morning? Do they take a bath together, separately?
Also, do any of you let your kids pick out their clothes for the next day? |

Our kids bathe at night, except the baby who gets a bath maybe twice a week. Calvin just started bathing separately a few months ago because he just takes up too much space, and they were getting too rowdy in there. My kids are almost bizarrely unaware of their "private parts," btw, so we never had issues with anything with them bathing together. Not like they would have been doing weird stuff, but you KWIM--some little kids are kind of fixated on theirs and everyone else's. lol
It's funny you should mention clothes. Dh was having a lot of trouble with SOmerset in the mornings because she never wants to wake up. The other night she fell asleep on the couch at 6:30 and still did not want to get up the next morning. So I suggested she start sleeping in her clothes. The boys thought this was brilliant, so now they all three bathe and then put on their uniforms for the next day. |

OMG!!! That is why I asked! Same exact thing here.
So, does he take a bath after them, or in a separate bath? How does that work?

That is awesome. Don't they get all wrinkled though? They wear uniforms? Do they go to a private/magnet school? |

I just started separating Jack and Molly for baths because they are too big in our tiny tub together and get way too hyper with splashing. So, either of them can bathe with the baby or one of them can shower. We dont do baths as often as we used to, it's just so... messy. So, we are about every 2-3 days here.
When we do baths, they are at night right before bed.
I have those canvas hanging clothes organizers from Target for the kids clothes. I love them! It's a huge timesaver. I write down the weather forecast for the week, then go upstairs and sort through the ginormous pile of clothes on each of their floors and fill the organizer for the week. Molly is the only one that sometimes objects to the choice of the day, then I just grab an outfit from another slot. I can't say enough about these organizer things! It's a huge time saver for me in the morning as I am rushing around trying to get everyone ready and in the car. |

Holy Cow! You are organized, woman! That is much too much organization. I think my head would explode. I need some sort of chaos in my life for it to run smoothly. |

He either takes a separate bath or a shower after they get out.
They do go to a magnet program (it's called "optional" rather than magnet here), but all Memphis City Schools wear uniforms. It's just khakis/shorts and white or red polos, basically, so they don't really get wrinkled. |

Both boys take a bath together every night before bed. I detest bath duty, so that's my husband's job. Neither boy seems to sleep well if they haven't had their bath first, so it's necessary.
Hunter wears a uniform to school, so he only gets to pick out his underwear each night. Ethan doesn't really care what he wears, and honestly, he wears whatever's clean and on top of the pile of clothes in the dresser drawer (because I don't much care either). |

My kids shower, even Liz. She's at that age where she won't sit in the bath anyway. She'll probably return to taking baths in a few months.
Sometimes Liz and Katie shower together, but most often Katie showers herself--she can do the whole thing by herself, but about every other shower or so, I do a final rinse and inspection just to make sure she's thorough enough.
A&K pick out their clothes the night before. |

Lately I've been having the kids take seperate baths because it seemed easier doing it one-on-one for a while, but I'm going to go back to putting them both in there for awhile and see how it goes.
I pick out their clothes in the morning unless we have somewhere to be early, then I'll do it the night before. |

One of the nice things about living in a small house is that I can see the tub from my couch. Once they are big enough to really sit and play in the bath, the older ones can supervise and I can watch them and Lost at the same time.
Genevieve is about to outgrow the baby tub. I need to get her one of those little bath seats. |

My kids almost always shower instead of bathe. They seem to prefer it, and we can get them in and out quicker that way. S has really dry skin, so he's on an as-needed basis-- usually only 3-4 times a week, pretty much every night in the summer. A will take a shower w/ me in the morning if she didn't have one with S the night before, because she always has stuff in her hair. I should add that since bathtime is not built into our normal nighttime, it ends up screwing with the bedtime routine at least once a week.
We set out clothes the night before. S and A can pick out their own clothes most of the time, unless it matters what they wear for some reason.
