I gave birth to Nate in a catholic hospital. The only comment I heard about it the whole time was during my discharge instructions by the nurse- "we are a catholic hospital so cannot recommend BC. If you are interested in BC, please contact your provider." I was fine with this and found it non-offensive and respectful. |
Since I was the one who brought this up originally, I guess I should add that this baby will be born in a Catholic hospital (don't actually have a whole lot of choice), and I'm fine with that-- it's a good hospital and I don't anticipate any problems. My issue is with politically vocal Catholic OB/GYN's, and there are plenty of those around here for some reason.

| Yup....I do. Our church has a directory of members that have businesses - I try and patronize them. (drycleaner guy etc). |
This seems very legitimate, and based more on a sense of community rather than religion. Meaning, you patronize these businesses because they are part of your church group rather than their specific beliefs. Jessica used to babysit for a couple that made a lot of money from networking at their Buddhist temple, lol.

Right, along the lines with my above statement. We had to get our water heater fixed recently, and I saw one plumber's ad had the little "jesus fish" next to the phone number, and I wondered, "would anyone actually call him simply because of that??" |

Well, I know we are supposed to surround ourselves with others that are equally yoked...I think it makes life easier no matter what religion/culture you are. BUT, the only I've ever purposely seeked out a Christian was when we went to blended family counseling.
My husband was in a partnership with a lady who was Muslim. They shared an office with a Jew and an Atheist. Made for interesting times during the holidays! LOL....
Now my husand is on his own in his own office and life is less complicated for him but I dont see how it was a problem with all of them working together! |
