DH and I are going to get a mini-van soon, like in the next 2 months, and have narrowed our choice down to the Toyota Sienna or Honda Odyssey. If anyone has either of these please let me know what you love/hate about your mini-vans.

Thanks!

I don't have either, we still want to get an SUV even in spite of the rising gas costs. I am so not a minivan person, although I can appreciate their appeal.

I just have to say though, Michael is so GD CUTE! If I ever get my hands on him, I'm just gonna have to hug him and kiss him to death! I can't stand it, he's so cute!!!! (Oh, and you look good too. I don't see any extra poundage on you!)

Honda Oddessey. We love ours. We checked them all out and never been happier. Especially for 13 hour drives to Orlando!

We have a Mazda MPV. It is similar to the Oddessey, but the back windows roll down, and it's cheaper. It probably doesn't have the resale value though. We'll drive ours for the next 20 years so the resale value doesn't matter. I love it.

again, as possibly the only non-parent on the site i have found a thread which interests me.

i currently own a dodge neon. and a great dane. my poor doggy will probably pass before my car. he is 10 years old and for a giant breed dog, that is OLD. but my next dog is going to be an irish wolfhound, which will be at least as big, possibly bigger.

i have been thinking of suv's, vans, and wagons.......

it's crazy what "dog people" will do when it comes to the comfort of the pooch.

As soon as I figure out how to pawn one of my Expeditions off on someone's that's blissfully oblivious to gas prices or current Ford sales incentives, I'm getting a Honda Odyssey. I am NOT a minivan person either, but I LOVE that van. Drive them both....I know you'll fall in love with the Odyssey.

I've heard good things about both. Some people on my email list drive those mini-vans and I think when they've compared, they've all been happy whether it's the Honda, or the Toyota.

I'm going the SUV route! I'm done with school in May of 07 and we have no car payments right now. My graduation present is going to be a toyota highlander SUV(hybrid) or the lexus SUV which is also going hybrid, and I'll trade my nissan frontier in for it. Mike is going to trade in our Civic for an Acura TL once we've paid the highlander off. We're hoping it will only take us a year to pay off the highlander since I'll be able to put my whole salary towards it. Yes, when I'm done with school we are going to be riding in style. Laughing

Odyssey all the way!! Love love LOVE mine!

Also, the natuional highways whatever institute (the one insurance companies use to track vehicle risks? Can't remember the exact name?) anyway, they rated the Kia Sedona #1 for crash safety, the Odyssey was #2. The Sienna didn't do too well at all. Confused

It's that ambiguous goldish bronzeish color. My friend has a red one that's really cute. I wish mine was red!

Shelly, we used to have a great dane named Simon. He was blue with unclipped ears and tail. I bought him for dh as a puppy and we had him several years, then had to give him to a cousin when we moved to FL into a small apartment not long after we got married. He was getting hip problems even then and died a few years later. He was a very sweet dog though!

Subaru has a 'dog package' option for the Outback. It's got special netting and padding, etc for the rear hatch area to keep dogs safe and comfortable. We looked almost bought one a few years back-- verrry spiffy.

Erika

We'll be buying a minivan later this year, I think, so I'll have to revisit this thread. I can't see much way around it with three in carseats.

They are both excellent minivans. We have a 2002 Honda Odyssey and love it. I do, however, think there is less road noise from the Toyota (we also have a Toyota Camry and a Honda Accord and find that to be true of Toyotas versus Hondas). LOVE the automatic doors - how did I ever live without them??
