I thought I would start this thread since I just got off the scale.

I lost another pound this week. It might be slightly more since it is 50 degrees in the house this morning and I am wearing 4 layers of heavy clothing and my ugly but yet very reliable fuzzy slippers, when I stepped on the scale. There was no way in hell I was going to strip in this cold.

130lb - 3lb = 17lbs to go!

I tried a crack at making baked broccoli and it turned out just great! There was no need for adding butter, just maybe a little pepper. Not that I am thinking about going on a macrobiotic diet, but I am looking into ways in incorporating some of their recipes. When it goes on sale, I might try baked cauliflower with roasted garlic.

I also made turkey meatloaf in muffin tins to prevent me from taking too big of a slice. I used to be able to eat 1/2 of a loaf in one sitting Embarassed

So my lunch for today is the usual. Lentil loaf with wochestershire sauce, salad, 2 pieces of fruit, and a luna bar.

I started getting into drinking detox tea. It tastes like black licorice which I love, but man is it expensive!

Keep up the good work gals (and any lurking men out there)!

OK, now that it is Friday, I am ready to check in, LOL!

I am down 2 lbs this week, yea! I have found out that for myself, working out does NOTHING to help me lose. It's the dieting. I still want to work out but at least I am not going to beat myself up if I dont feel like it every day.

I've got about 20 lbs to go. That seems like a lot!! Confused

I hear ya about the exercising. But I started taking the stairs, and parking my car at a greater distance from the entrance from my work. Not much, but it beats doing nothing.

When you think about it, 20lbs to lose at about 2lbs a week would have you finished by April or so. Well before swimsuit season! Mr. Green

I've walked 3 miles on the treadmill, uphill I might add, twice this week. Both times took 60 mins, and I burned 500 calories, or so the machine says! Working out makes me thirsty as fukk so I'm doing well so far.

Ugh. I haven't even started. I feel like such a loser.

I'm too worried about shit, and I eat when I'm worried. Again, I haven't gained, but I need to do something about my flabby gut! I look like I'm 3 months pregnant and I hate it!

Jessica, why are you so stressed?

I have seriously got to start walking at least 3 or 4 times a week. I can't believe how much my back and hips are already hurting me, and I really haven't gained much. I guess my center of gravity changing and everything shifting around is causing it, but I feel like a little exercise would help. I was really good about walking when I was pg with Joshua and it made a huge difference in how I felt and how quickly I lost the weight after he was born. I did get out and do a pretty good walk yesterday with my Mom while we were over there. I need to build on that and keep it up!

Kristy, boy are you and me alike in so many ways! I betchya didn't think you'd hear that from me.

Even though I would never dream of leaving the country (been to 10 different countries and never saw anthing remotely desirable enough to want to live there) and I do like the Chicagoland area, I have wanderlust. I keep wondering if there's something out there that wouldn't be better than working my ass off for nothing. I mean, I love our house, but I feel like we can never get ahead and we live paycheck to paycheck. I know Scott's business venture is one that has a lot of potential and one that has enjoyed an upward momentum, but I'm just tired. Sometimes I want to just chuck it all and move to some qaint town where everybody knows my name, yet I know that I would hate it there. I guess the big condundrum is that I absolutely love city life, love Chicago, yet we can't afford it so I work so hard to live in a place that I don't enjoy because I work my ass off all the time and have to constantly under creative budgeting to keep it all going. Sometimes I wonder if it's worth it and then I turn around and property taxes are going to be raised and the school district is in dire straits.

C'mon! Give a girl a break, right??

Anyway, I keep thinking about that one post your wrote, when I'm walking to school to pick up Holen or just on my lunch break at work and I think to myself, God, do I know what you're going through! I just think I need to see some fruits of my labor. I feel like a recluse sometimes. Even though I'm constantly dealing with the public, I just wanna go out and play, but there is no time for that.

Am I feeling sorry for myself or what? Someone slap me!!

Oh, and I forgot to mention all the stress I'm having about Graham. Ugh!

Sorry to vent so much.

Anyway, congrats to all that stayed with the program. Hopefully I'll get on board soon.

Jessica, I hope your stressload decreases soon! I ate worrying about money and living check to check too which is where we are with me not working this year. Confused

Porperty taxes in Chicago are killer. When I go home to visit my parents I am just in shock over the housing prices as well. I could never afford to buy a house in my hometown now, it's insane.

Has G had another eval recently that is stressing you out or is he due for one soon? What's up with the preschool situation?

Jessica, I totally feel your pain! As of the moment, it looks like we are moving to Pensacola. It's going to take prolly a year though, to get both the house and the shop in shape and sold. But I do feel less stressed just having made the decision. I stll feel the daily stresses though, and just like you, am feeling like I rarely do anything fun or see my friends.

We picked Pensacola because it is an easy day's drive from both my family and dh's, plus one of his sisters will be moving back there from Southern FL. It has a lot of well-protected (from development) beaches, but also is a small city with the kinds of houses we like in one area (very hard to find in FL), and that area has some great public school options, including a magnet school for the arts and free 4 yo pre-k, which will help us with childcare costs. Florida teacher salaries suck, but I can't give up the hours and holidays now with young kids and a new baby.

Anyway, sorry I steered that right back to me, lol. I do so know where you are coming from. I hope you guys can figure out some things to make life more fun and less stressful soon. Maybe you should move near Nashville with Honeybee. It really is a nice area, and Nashville is a city of surprising amenities and all the things you want in a city. It's too bad Memphis sucks in so many ways, because the high salaries and low cost of living can be really great. It's one of the reasons it's so hard for people to leave here.

So, what all is going on with Graham?

Let's have a pity party! occasion9

If I had to move to FL I would pick Pensacola because it's the closest you can be to not living in Florida and still be in Florida. Laughing
