This is the completely wrong time of year to start dieting but I must! I have no jeans that fit me and am about to sign myself up for some strong antidepressants if I have to wear my post-partum sweatsuit ensembles much longer.
I felt like I looked ok on Thanksgiving in my velour number but then noticed that Marshall's grandma was wearing a similar outfit, but in green.
Anyway, anyone interested in a weekly goal/check in thing? jessica, are you still doing WW? |

I'm not on WW anymore, but it's been almost a year and I think I might join you after the holidays -- sorry but I can't start before the holiday season is over, that will just be setting myself up for failure.
I have gained back about 5lbs. of the 35lbs. I lost, which is amazing in a way because I eat junk all day long -- candy, cookies, muffins, burgers. It's just that I run my ass off all day long in retail that it's allowed me to induldge, but even running to the tailor shop 10 times an hour doesn't forgive every candybar I eat on the run. I have to change my eating habits and I'd like to go down another 15lbs.
Scott's on WW though! I don't know how closely he's monitoring himself. I don't really think he needs to lose much. I'm going to take over his membership after the holidays. |

DCH, don't be too discouraged. I had Aaron the day after thanksgiving and I was the only person I knew to loose 25 lbs over the holidays.
Seriously though you JUST had a baby and that weight is going to keep coming off. It takes like 6 months *at least* to get the weight off. And how old is she, like 4 wks?
My method was doing some hardcore dieting and speed walking on the tread everyday for at least 30 mins. I only gained 1 lb over the weekend. I can't beleive it was even that though. I spent Friday night hurling about 50 bajillion times all night long. How can one GAIN weight after purging? |

I was really good keeping track of the points for the first 2 weeks, but this last week I've been a slacker, and majorly cheated over the holiday weekend, but that was to be expected, LOL! I'm back on as of tomorrow.
I dig the whole points system, seems easier than calorie/fat/carb counting. |

I can't diet, obviously, but I really need to get on a moderate exercise program. I am seriously terrified of the fact that I am very likely to hit 200 lbs by the time I have this baby. Ack! I walked a lot when I was pg with Joshua, and I felt like it made a huge difference in how I felt and how comfortable I was toward the end, plus I just lept walking after he was born and lost the whole 40 I'd gained in 9 weeks without even trying.
Plus, the reflux I always get is fucking killing me this time. I really need to try to make good choices about what I eat. I get it no matter what I eat, but if I eat the spicey foods I love, then two hours later it feels like I just drank a bottle of battery acid. If I were someone with reflux just normally, and I had to live with this shit the rest of my life, I think I would just die. You think it can't be that bad, but OMG, it is really horrible. |

| Scout, I have it normally and then while pg it gets horrid. I never had it before I was pg with Nate! But with him it was so bad, I wonder if it burned my esophageal sphincter completely away. It has been bad since this was a holiday weekend, and I took two zantac every evening. Are you allowed to take zantac? |

Becky said "sphincter"!
Scout- Zantac and tums helped me sometimes but I had wicked heartburn all the time too. Sorry it's hurting you so badly! |

| Yeah, I was taking Pepcid and it was barely working anymore so I've switched to Zantac, which helps just slightly more. If it gets much worse I'm going to need a prescription. I hate taking stuff like that when I'm pg, but honestly I don't think I could function without it. |

| I'm definitely in on some kind of weight loss plan! However, since I'm currently fat, I'm going to binge during the holidays and start in the new year...might as well enjoy myself now! LOL |

Well, I am going to cut out cookies, chocolate and possibly my nightly kahluas and milk until X-mas and then I'm going to OUT!
Then, back to the drawing board until New Years and then, another fest and then back on again.
At least with little milestones of indulgences, it might motivate me to cut out what makes me gain weight the most. I love cookies. I am the ultimate cookie monster, especially chocolate chip. <drool> |

I'm in. I've gained back about 5lbs of the 15 or so that I lost and it pisses me off. When you get thin, you should just stay that way! I don't look like I've gained any, but I'm far less toned (read: flabby) and I hate that. I didn't overdo it at t-giving, but I rarely do. It's Christmas that gets me. All that fudge and those cookies. Sweet chocolate Christ do I love Christmas cookies!
I really need to jsut get back to weight training and walking, but I've gotten lazy. Also, I had Pepsi 2 days in a row and I swear I got addicted in those 2 days. On day 3 I had a horrible headache, so I drank a Pepsi and no more headache! Same thing on day 4, 5 and 6, and so starts the downward spiral into fat and addiction. Damn you PepsiCo! I had gone months without Pepsi, and then WHAM! I think if I lay off that I can drop the pounds, but oh, the headaches!

Julymom- I agree the pop is totally addicting. I am not willing to worry about it right now since it's the only thing keeping me awake until dh gets home from work each night. Caffeine combats my sleep deprivation nicely!
Ok, everyone who is in- let's have a check-in each week and we can make a goal for ourselves and then see how we did. Should we start next Monday and let everyone have a while longer to stuff down the cookies? |
