I'm in.
We want to join a gym. Since my main downfall to weigh loss is that I am lazy and put off exercise, this will be good.
Oh, and my Christmas downfall is mint M&M's. Only available at Cmas time, so I really need to consume enough in the wintery season to get me through the rest of the year. |

I'm in.
I have a conference next week - I'de like to lose 5 pounds of water weight before then.
i walked the spazoid dog tonight. And I had salad at wendys instead of a burger/fries. Thats good ...right????
I skipped most of the dressing.
But...i did havea latte coffee tonight - which probably counteracted my salad.

I have not read all the posts, but I really need to lose about 10 - 20lbs. I am a semi veggie (eating only dairy, poultry and fish) and a carbo freak...big problem there.
I usually have an egg and cheese sandwich or a turkey swiss coissant every morning, but since funds are really tight I am resorting to resisting to make stuff from home. Today is the first day to have 3/4 cup cereal with skim. I'm sitting here in the office famished and it's only 0940!
I have cous cous and cut up chicken sausage for lunch, but I feel guilty that I did have time to get into the garden this morning to raid the lettuce for a salad.
But count me in. |

That's because you need some protien! I never eat cereal in the mornings, because it just doesn't stick with me. Cereal is a great evening snack though! Try a quick omlet or just srambled eggs with veggies instead. Keep precut veggies in the fridge and just toss them in a pan with an egg for a few minutes. It doesn't take much longer than a bowl of cereal.
You could also try veggie sausage. I eat 2 veggies sausages and 1 slice of multigrain toast with cream cheese every morning and am never hungry before lunch. The MorningStar Farms link sausage is really good, but it is a bit pricey, so that might not work.
Seriously though, try to get some protien in the mornings and you won't be starving by midmorning. |

I am totally a protein person. I must have protein at every meal or I will become hypoglycemic an hour or so after I eat. If it weren't for sugar, it would be really easy for me to follow a low carb (but not no carb) diet. I like pasta once a week though, but I think if I stuck to meats and veggies the rest of the time, I could get away with it.
One good thing about getting pg is that I'm always so motivated to loose weight after I have the baby. I started this pregnancy at my all-time biggest, and I might have just kept slowly gaining weight. Now I know that when this baby comes, my ass is getting in gear! |

Ah! Morning Star and Boca make great veggie sausages! Both companies have really gotten their act together in making their soy products tasty. Have you tried the Morning Star Lentil/Rice loaf (meatloaf substitute)? Tastes great with Wostershire sauce.
And I always thought the roll in the egg and cheese sandwich was the reason I was so full in the AM. |

I agree! I had a cup of coffee with a veggie sausage this morning and I was good until 10am. Then had a handful of dried fruit for a snack and that held me until lunch. I am fine unless my stomach is growling, so I just eat a little snack to hold me over until lunch.
I had teriyaki chicken for lunch with stir fried veggies, the only thing that was a horrible no-no was that there was like 1700 grams of salt in the mutherfucking thing! |

Have you guys heard about all these new raw restaurants that are opening?? It's the rage! It's supposed to be super-super healthy. Just raw veggies and fruits and grains and crap. I don't even know, but it sounds like a great detox program.
My New Years resolution is to start eating raw veggies. |

I heard the guy who opened the first Raw restaurant on "Splendid Table" on NPR a few years ago. The stuff is all very complex. Some things are slightly heated in the prep process, but only to a minimal degree. Some of it sounds interesting, and a lot of it sounds nasty. Remember on SATC, Samantha met "Smith" when he was a waiter at Raw. She had to wait out all the other women who were there trying to pick him up, so she was ordering all this gross stuff.
I have actually craved produce this pregnancy. I think it's my winter panic taken up a notch by the hormones. I *hate* winter, and fresh fruits and veggies seem harder to come by in winter, so I want them. I've been eating baby carrots and grape tomatoes with ranch dressing, and canteloupe and grapes. I got a few good plums before the last of the season. I always crave canned pears when I'm pg, too, for some reason. I ate a whole chilled can the other day, though, so I'm good on pears for a while. Salads are agitating my digestive problems though, so not much salad going on unfortunately.
We do eat a lot of one-dish meals that are rice or pasta based, though, and I think adding a green veggie like steamed broccoli or some spinach is a great, easy strategy. You end up eating less of the higher-calorie main dish, plus you get some veggies in you. When I worked for a guy from naples, Italy, he would sautee fresh spinach in a little olive oil with some fresh garlic until it was just done, then drench it in cold, fresh lemon juice. Sounds weird but it was so yummy and very refreshing in the hot weather. |

Those places are probably expensive to eat though, is this true?
Every week I go to costco and get one of those huge party platters of raw veggies that come with dill dip. I will consume the whole thing within the week, and the boys will open the fridge and dig out baby carrots and cherry tomatoes when they are waiting for food to be finished.
I take a salad to school for lunch with bagged lettuce and a bunch of veggies from my party platter, with canned black beans (rinsed off) on top. It is filling. And I know I always say this, but the whole thing just makes you shit like 4 times a day. And you are so light afterwards! I think I have an obsession with shitting and then weighing myself afterwards. |

That was fantastic to read while eating lunch! I literally choked on my Lean Pocket. I have a friend who's like that. She's crazy with it. You're not like the model in CSI though who shit in the baggies and weighed it so she's know how much she was outputting are you? Cause that would just be weird. |

That's the first thing that popped in my head when Jessica posted about the uncooked food.
I loved Smith. I miss SATC. |
