As of today, you may begin using your own avatar images. Simply go to the members area to edit your profile, and it should be pretty explanatory. You may either upload an image to our server, link to a remote image, or continue to use one from our gallery.
Also, we have removed the restriction that was blocking images from being used in signatures. To use an image, simply use the same image tags that you would use in a post. For example:

The signature image needs to be hosted somewhere, we are unable to allow uploading of signature images due to server size limitations.
Also, concerning the signature images, please try to keep them to a reasonable size. Yes, yes, your kids are all adorable, but that doesn't mean I want to see a 800x800 picture of them 5 times in the same thread. Okey-dokey?
You're welcome. |

I am sure that the powers that be are frowning upon the cluttering of their site. |

Yes, it certainly is disturbing my design zen, but I decided it was time to stop inflicting my neuroses on everyone else. Based on how everyone has jumped on this, it seems to be a popular decision!!
Besides, I still have complete control over the main part of the site which gets the most visitors, anyway. |

hmmm. I am so not saavy at this sort of thing...see if it works.
Nope - I got a pic under 49, but it still rejects it. Any reason why? I don't have my own website...I tried uploading from my computer. |
