Mike and I were looking at baby stuff at Target and we found a travel system we really liked--the Evenflo Ellipsa. It is really way cool. I came home to look it up and I can find nothing about it other than that Cindy Crawford apparently posed with one once, and even none of those photos are available. It's like it doesn't exist--even on the Evenflo website! I e-mailed thier customer service to find out what's up with that--I mean, there are several of them at our Target, so I know they're out there. But, I'm really reluctant to buy something (for $220) when I can't find anything about it. Oh, and when you Google "Evenflo Ellipsa" it has it highlighted on the Target Baby blurb, but when you click on the link the travel system does not exist anywhere on the two pages. It's really bizarre!

The elusive Ellipsa...I have no idea. It's probably so new that there isn't much out there yet, ya know?

Gosh, for that amount of money, have you looked at the Peg Perego Pilko? We *still* use that stroller with Graham. It's the most awesome stroller on the planet and it's a travel system too. It might be a little more, but honestly, your baby will probably not outgrow it untill they're in Kindergarten. It's portable and compact, no sticky wheels ever. Of course, I don't know anything about the Ellipsa, since it seems to exist in your imagination only. (Just kidding! Wink ) Evenflo makes good products.

I've never heard of the Ellipsa, therefore it must be completely brand new. I'm a stroller ho, so I would know. Wink
We did have an Evenflo system with Ethan and I liked it fine. I really loved the carseat, much more so than the Graco we used with Owen.

Something to note: other stores will eventually get the same Ellipsa system, just in different prints. Each store gets their own exclusive designs. So if you don't like the Target design, you'll be able to find the same stroller at BRU and TRU in differerent colors. BRU and TRU always have more to choose from, they'll get like 3 designs while Target will just have one. And TRU and BRU have really awesome return policies should anything go wrong with it, or even if you just decide you don't like it, whereas Target will say you are SOL.

I bet Target wasn't supposed to have them out yet. But that really sucks for you because it means your Target must have done their baby clearance ahead of schedule, so you won't find any of those great bargains! At one of my Targets they had all the cool bouncy seats for 50% off and a lot misc. baby stuff (cups, bibs, sorta stuff) for 75% off.

I got the scoop on the Ellipsa, it is brand new. Just out the first of the year, distribution to Target, TRU and Burlinton was supposed to happen about the middle of January.

It is a way cool thing, it has the one-handed folding, the all-terrain wheels, the one hand-steering, the 180 degree bonnet (with a plastic windshiled, so baby can see), the body is made out of stainless steel or something. It's snazzy. I guess Evenflo took complaints from moms about other travel system and used thier comments when designing this one. I think we're gonna get it.

Melissa--yeah, we live near Target headquarters, so I think we are ahead of other stores. I still didn't see any big baby sales there, but like last week their whole baby department was totally different. So, I think it must've happened already.

Ooh, can't wait until there are some pics out there so i can check it out. My only word of caution is that my SIL had an Evenflo travel system and the base on the infant seat was completely impossible to install correctly. No matter what you did, you could flip the front of it upward very easily. She had to just not use the base, which is a pain cause then you have to buckle the seat in every time. So I'd try to check out the base and how it installs. On hers, the seat belt just went across two kind of handles that stuck up on the part that was against the seat back. So basically there was no downward pressure.

That is very good advice scout! THat's why I like BRU, you can use their example seat to install a carseat, or take the carseat out to your car before you have even bought it!

Ooooh...that's cool!!

It looks like it has a drop-down basket. The whole design of it reminds me a lot of the new stroller Quatro that Graco introduced last year.

Me likie!

Wow! That is cool! I love strollers! When ds was a baby, we had this thing. I loved that stroller! Best thing EVER. Since ds was such a little baby, he was in his infant seat until he was 8 months old, so we got tons of use out of it. I still miss that stroller. After that, I bought an Aprica that I hated. It was expensive! I sold it at a resale shop for almost as much as I paid for it though, so I got most of my money back. After that, I got the Peg Perego Venezia which I love. The new model has cup holders for parents (my only gripe about this stroller) and a split boot, which is cool. I wanted this type of stroller (which is why I originally bought the Aprica), because it has a reversable handle and boot, which was really great in the cold wet German winters. It's also easy, easy, easy to fold. It's been all over Europe and is still in great condition. I also have a Graco Citisport, which I think is called Citilite in America. I use this one for quick trips as it weighs practically nothing and has a shoulder strap.
Mmmmm....I love strollers.

PP, when it folds does it stay up on the wheels like this one does?

I really loved this stroller and wanted it so badly with Owen. But we needed the double at the time. Crying or Very sad

Yeah, that's how it folds. You just squeeze the "trigger" thing on the one-handed-steering bar thing and it collapses forward. I've never seen a stroller fold like that before!

The one we're looking at isn't the blue model in the picture though, it's black and white checked.

Well, they were all gone. I went today and they were all gone at Target. Today totally fucking sucks. I'm not going to be able to make it to Burlington until tomorrow night, and I still have to call them to make sure they have some in stock.
