Ewww. His 15 year old son sleeps with them too?
Uh, you can have him and therapy to go with!!
Don't get me wrong, Graham winds up sleeping with Scott in the guest bedroom almost every night, mostly so I can sleep since I work at home at goofy hours, sometimes really early in the morning, but Graham is 22 months, not 15. |

| No, the article totally does not say their 15 yo sleeps with them. They have 4 kids, who knows when they got the bed, and it just says the kids have often ended up climbing in bed with them. |

Not so fast Kristy...
"Bono, who is celebrating 20 years of marriage to his childhood sweetheart, explains: "Four kids sleep in our bed too - sometimes all on the same night - so there's six of us!"
The couple's youngsters are Jordan, 15, Eve, 13, Elijah, five, and three-year-old John."
As you can read, it *totally* does say that. Do the math...if there's six of 'em, and their youngest is only three... |

| Yeah, but it still sounds like an occasional thing, where the whole family piles in the bed. I don't think that's the same as a 15 yo who "has" to sleep with his parents. |

| A 15 year old boy sleeping with his parents, ever, unless he's totally incapacitated or something, is heading straight for freaky town, IMO. |

Yes, it will destroy the certainly normal life he currently leads as the son of BONO.
IMO, I think them all crashing once in a while on some 20-ft. long bed in probably a 2000 sq. ft. bedroom is probably a different dynamic than a 15 year old curling up with his sister and parents in a queen size in suburbia. That's if you can find a normal 15 year old that would even want to, lol! |

Well, if you put it that way, then I guess Bono isn't quite the AP poster child that the family bed advocates might want to portray him as, because we all have 20 ft. beds in 2000 sq. feet bedrooms right??? |

Who's putting him up as a poster child? I just thought it was interesting that the article was from the POV of him as a parent and mentioned the family bed.
As for a 15 yo ever ending up in bed with the family, I think it totally depends on the situation. It's sad to say a teenager should never want or crave the safety and security of a bed where he/she probably spent a lot of time and felt safest as a child. Teenagers, especially that young, are still kids. Why do we push them to be so detatched and independent then bitch about how aloof they are? |

Oh, see, I don't see anything charming about a 15 yr. old teenage boy sleeping with his parents and I don't bitch about aloof teenagers. I think that is the age you need to be there for them, like never before, but they're also establishing major identity and idenpendence themselves. A 15 yr. old boy is too old be sleeping w/ his parents IMO. I don't even think it's healthy for the parents or the kid, unless they lack electricity and need to sleep together to surivive, it's just really creepy. |

Oh, and one more point, I don't think you need to sleep w/ your teenage son to make him feel comfort or importance.
I mean, my Dad would sleep with my brother, on the road, when we took family trips (and we were teenagers) but he never crawled into bed with him to spoon or anything. LOL! |

| It sounds like a great way for their family to reconnect after Bono has been out on tour and stuff. I dunno, I think it's pretty cool. |

| I am with Jessica, I think 15 years old is too old for all night cuddling in the family bed. I can't imagine doing that when I was 15! Yeesh! |

I have to agree. BTW, where does Michael Jackson fit into this scenario? He's gotta be there somwhere. |

When I go visit my parents, my dad always gets booted onto the couch and I sleep in bed with my mom and the boys. We are weirdo's though!
I can't say I'll be sleeping with my 15 year old sons, I would think by that age they won't be wanting to sleep with us anymore. I don't think it's weird though. On my Korean side of the family, my uncle has two girls and a boy who are the same age as my sister and I, and it is the norm for the family to sleep together on the floor, all in one room.
I don't think it's a weird thing. I would think of it as the family being very close. And I see them as secure for not being self conscious about societal norms. |
