| I find language development to be fascinating. I started a list today of all the words Virginia says and I'm trying to figure out if I should add words like "moo" and "quack" to the list. Do you consider those to be words or just sounds? |

Virginia is a chatterbox. I suspect I might talk too much.
Should I count sign language too? |

yes, sign language counts!
Owen's favorite word is "NO!". He always stands in the middle of the hustle and bustle with one hand sticking out, palm out, and pivots while exclaiming, "no. NO! nononono. No! nO!..." He looks like a mad crossing guard. |

Animal noises count because they are an understanding of what sounds animal makes. They are learned words just the same as "yes" or "no"
Aaron is ahead of the game at almost one compared to Nate. But he still is like a quiet blob of unemotional cells that just sits there observing everyone, lol.
He says "mama" "dada" and I swear the other day when he was in his carseat screaming his head off he was saying "my dadi!" "my dadi!"
He also plays Gai Bai Bo (korean words for paper, rock, scissors) He puts his fists in balls and shakes them around saying "ga baba!" while the kids are playing.
Oh and he claps. Amazing how these tiny little things can make a parent so proud!
He also has recently just taken his first step. He's trying so hard. I hope he's walking by his bday, that would be some cute video footage! |

Ooh, yea, a rare chance to use the word "onomatopoeia".
The official definition of onomatopoeia is "the use of words whose sound suggests the sense", so "moo" and "oink" definitely qualify as words!
Now that I think about it, I guess the fact I can type "moo" automatically qualifies it as a word, LOL.
With Graham, he's so far behind I would take even an animal sound at this point. |

| Awww, he will. He's not even 2 yet, right? Nate had like 4 words when he was 2. At 3, we could not get him to shut up. LOL |
