Growing Pains

The Autumn Wife

By Elizabeth Thompson

This is dejavu for me. When I was in junior high, my parents had this idea to buy a bigger home for our family of six. We would have each had our own rooms, too, but we made the same argument. We didn't want to leave our friends and our schools. The funny things is, I still drive past "the house that could have been" every now and then. It's just kind of interesting to see what it looks like. And funnier yet, my husband and I bought the house I grew up in when my parents built their new mansion. I guess I'm just a sentimental fool :) Great post, Liz!

And like my Grandma used to say, "It's not the home that matters, it's the memories it holds."

"The house that could have been," meets "The house that just won't die."

What a great home repair horror flick that would make, huh Dana!
