Rugrat Reprieve

This one's for the boys.

By Rachael Brownell

For fathers day, I'd like 15 minutes in a world not filled with ridiculous stereotypes of Fathers as bumbling idiots to be pitied and tolerated.

Could this article be any more passive aggressive?

I cook, clean, watch the kids, etc and so do countless numbers of other Fathers.

Homer Simpson
Peter Griffin
Al Bundy

Give me a break! These are characters (caricatures) from a fantasy land. If you happened to marry one of the models for these guys then that's your little red wagon.

For Fathers Day try looking at the Fathers around you like they're the intelligent, capable, HUMAN BEINGS that they are. We deserve your respect, not your pity.

Yama goo,
You missed the whole point of this .. i'm making FUN of these stereotypes.. NOT saying they are real facsimiles of men.

Alas and alack!

Well, I thought it was a great piece. I might just have to incorporate it into a post I've had brewing in my head lately.

I thought the post was great. I just wish I knew about it around Fathers Day because I would have found a way to get it in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and on its parenting blog.
