Growing Pains

Having faith and eating meat, too.

By Elizabeth Thompson

I, too, went to Catholic school. I can remember the principal of the grammar school where I attended being the type of Nun who, today, would be in jail for the felonies she perpetrated on us kids! Hitting, hair pulling, name calling (her favorite was "fairy-lairy lily"), not to mention intimidation at it's finest. She single-handily reduced the Catholic population by hundreds!

I'm still Catholic, but I have reservations about some of the nonsense that they still attempt to have us believe. Lately, I've been attending services and bible studies at a local Evangelical Lutheran Church, and I find it to be a lot more peaceful than the fire and brimstone that the Catholic Church has been handing down to me all these years.

I truly enjoyed reading your account of Catholic School.
