This was funny and wonderful. As an unemployed parent of three, I've always been a little wary of taking jobs that might be seen as inappropriate by my extended family and my children's educators. It's nice to hear that Mrs. Gatto managed to not only cross that line, but remain a good parent because of it. Kudos! I hope to see more of her writing on this website!

Hope,
Great article. It was revealing, touching and funny.
Jobs shouldn't define who we are. For many, their careers are everything. For others, it's somewhere in-between.
Your job helps you support your family and still gives you time to be there for your kids. That's important as many don't have that opportunity.
Loved the article! It actually convinced me that I should consider bartending as a supplement to our family income. Kudos! That's quite an accomplishment. I do have a couple years of drunken college cocktail waitressing under my belt. I wonder if that would be enough?
