Sometimes I think my daughter's had it almost too cushy. She seems to crumble at the most seemingly insignificant annoyance.
So, while life has not turned out as you expected, you have shown your children how to remain strong over and over again. They've had to deal with a lot, but I bet they'll really appreciate when things go well and know how to cope when they don't.
Wow, Amy - your "I can handle this" attitude is so very inspirational. I, too, have witnessed many hardships and have found I somehow make it through. My belief in myself has strengthened through the years and I can see it having a positive affect on my tween boys.
Kudos to you for being an optimist and fighter. You have two very fortunate children!
