Wow, what a great story. IGood for you. I was really shocked when I got to the bottom and saw you are only 24. It made the story that much better. :)

You should be very proud of yourself. I searched for years to find help for a variety of problems, also consulting a naturopath and a few other alternative practitioners. Far and away the best resource that I know of is Dr Joel Fuhrman. If you are not familiar with his work, he is a family practice M.D. who specializes in nutritional excellence. His book, Eat To Live, has really changed how I feel about food and my health. I have had amazing results in a short period of time. You can check him out at www.drfuhrman.com It is just a suggestion, as I know he has had results with depression and many, many other things. You'll also want to read his latest "Disease Proof Your Child" since I'm sure you want to feed you child the best. Congratulations and doing such a great job so far.

I was almost close to tears when I read your article... In my country, depression is common but taking Prozac or other antidepression is still not a norm. Most of us are still ignorant of psychiatrist or psycho-medical treatment. We just breastfeed. That helps a lot for mothers who are on the verge of post-partum blues/PPD etc. Your story has just proved that. BRAVO!

Your story shows how you and a few good Moms are not intimidated by doctors who should know better.
Most Moms just listen to medical personnel that have not read current literature on how and why breastfeeding does work.
Lindsey, you are brave and gutsey!
Your baby is very lucky to have you as her Mom.
