Mommy I'm A Gas Station

We've all been there... right?!

By Antigone Arthur

Ahhh sweet memories, uhhh nightmares. I too am guilty of leaving the kids in the car for just a few minutes, only to find some man harassing my kids outside of the car (the car was locked). I remember screaming at him and proceeding to chase him around the parking lot. Was I crazy or what!!!! Then there was the time I accidently dropped one of my infant daughters on her head by way of tilting the baby stroller too far back to get up the curb of the sidewalk. Heck of a bump on the knoggin. Oh yes, then there was the time I lost my 5 year old on the beach for 45 minutes. I only looked away for a second. She was up on the lifeguard stand with the lifeguard looking for me. My God what a scare though. I thought for sure that she was shark bait! Oh yeah, definately been there, done that. You are right. NOBODY'S PERFECT!!!!!!! Moms included.

Oh, I remember those days well, but my kids were not spaced as close as yours. 2 years apart and my youngest is in 1st.

Contrary to popular belief, it did NOT go by fast.

It's going fast now but back then--it was endless.

Terrific article.
