That Mom

Is this what they think of me or what I think of me?

By Candace Juman Martin

What a refreshing and hysterically funny article...it is so nice to see that I am not alone.

I really enjoyed this article...it's nice to know that us "that moms" are not alone and we're all out there struggling to make it work each and every day!

Thank you for this article. I scold myself daily for my imperfect parenting, and how I can possibly write about parenting, and then feel as though I am failing so miserably with my own daughter. It makes me feel like a fake! Then I remember that she is only four, and this experience is universal. And my ex-husband gets those "that dad" looks, that are so much more sympathetic than the ones I receive. You nailed that.

Thanks for reminding me I am not alone in my mothering. I am definatly "that mom" but I enjoy it some days, thats all that matters right? Very funny and uplifting article, I really enjoyed it.
Thanks

I needed that laugh today - thank you! I have a feeling I'm a "that mom" in-training.

EmmaLee, I'm sure you're a great mom. I've always admired you as a good Catholic woman. I'm sure you will instill those values in your own child and will be "that mom" that other moms and moms-to-be aspire to be like.

Thank you so much for this. You are a fantastic writer and I appreciate and value your honestly and humor.

So many days I worry about whether or not I am doing this right. If I am enough? If I am doing things for me or for my son....It is nice to know others feel the same.

Good luck with all these new dances. I wish you grace and ease.
